MY BIG HAIR CHANGE!
Recently i had been scrolling on TikTok and i come across this video of this beautiful alt girl lip sinking to a cute song, i was immediately glued to my screen and swiftly went to watch every video on her account (not a creep i promise lol) HER HAIR... her hair, was gorgeous, it was an above the shoulder short hair cut with layers all around and it was styled with each layer of the hair curled and flicked up, and i immediately knew i needed it. obviously a little risky.
My then current hair was about waist length, frizzy and box dyed black, with random red/orange streaks in the back where i failed to bleach it (long horror story).I loved my long hair, it felt like i could really hind alot of my insecurities behind my long hair, it felt safe, and in the moment i felt this weird feeling of, almost rebellion?? agents my long hair and how it was the only way i really left feminine needed a switch up, a fresh start, i have had so many ideas for my hair but the black box dye really put a halt in any plans i could have for my hair for the near future while it grew out.
so... i sporadically booked an appointment at my local hair dressers I've been going to forever, it seemed like fate as she had an open appointment that day in 2 hours. Recently id been rocking the slight emo side part and i was set of keeping it for this hair cut (i cut it back a week later).
TADAAAA!!! this is the new cut, not exactly how i imagined it and not exactly like the picture i showed her but i still quite liked it, it was giving Alice from twilight. alot of the black box dye was still present at the ends of my hair, but with cutting it more it will obviously be gone soon. The cut itself costed about £25 however i got a styling product with it that took the total to £50, to be frank i did not think the styling product would cost THAT much and i felt to awkward to ask to put it back lol.
But one thing i was not expecting with this hair cut was how it would look when i woke up in the morning, because gurl... it looks crazy in the morning, there are layers in the back that are SO short that when i wake up they are sticking right up and it takes a while for it to naturally go back down, also if i have styled my hair for the day I'm hesitant to lay down or rest my head on anything if i need to be someone elts that day. but honestly all that has done is make me sit up more (so my hair doesn't get ruined) and also shower and wash y hair more often in the morning before i go out to work or collage, which i think has been good for me, usually I'm in abit of a rush in the morning and don't have time for that stuff but since my hair is shorter it dries easier. (but i HAVE TO dry it with a hair dryer or my hair goes all weird and greasy looking)
as i said before i got a little tired of the side part and missed my short bangs, i think a big reason for this is because i really enjoy my doing my makeup and my favorite things about my makeup are my eyeliner and doing my eyebrows and with this swoop side bang you really couldn't see my brows much, so... i grabbed a spray bottle and my arts and craft scissors and tired to cut my bangs straight and a little short, it was more difficult then the regular trim I'm used to because the hair dresser had cut the side bang in to my hair more, so when i put it in a middle part it was all different lengths, but i did it. Honestly i think putting a side part in really changed the whole hair cut for me, i loved it!!! i could flick it perfectly out so i looked like the original picture i give to my hair dresser and the short bang accompanying it just totally ate the whole look up, ill put a picture down below to show what i mean.
it gives it a more messy look and i love ittt, i just need to find a good hair spray, the few I've used now make random piece of my hair crunchy or it just goes completely flat at the back, but other than that i really love it. And as you can probably see i did dye it black again, BUT i used proper hair dye from XP100 with a proxied from sally's, so if i wanna get the color out or bleach it i can do that easier without my hair falling out lol.
Another thing that ive noticed while having my new hair is that i get more attention for my aperients and I've had a few people tell me i look like lady from devil may cry (never watched or played) she's cute.
